CTAC presents Arts Explosion 2020
July 13-17, 2020
Held at Stephens County Fairgrounds
Imagine 80 kids, ages 9-12 years of age, elbows deep in plaster, paint, or even clay. Imagine an air horn sounding to signal the end the first class. Next, imagine kids scrambling to clean up and move on to their next class eager to see what new project they will get to create next. Will it be batik with wax, tie-dying a white t-shirt, or will it be an abstract wire sculpture with that "Picasso" twist? NOW…. Imagine the look on that child's face when they pull their parents by the hand throughout the "art exhibit" on Family Night and they proudly point out all of the art projects they created over the past several days.
Chisholm Trail Arts Council’s Arts Explosion (AE) has been providing children of all ages the opportunity to have hands on art activities since 1991. A summer day camp, AE opened the world of performing and fine arts to countless of young people throughout Stephens County. Every school district in the county has access to Art Explosion and even children from out of town are welcome too! “We get several children who come every year while they are visiting family or grandparents during the summer and we love to see them come back each year. It is so rewarding to watch these kids grow each year and sharing the love of art with them.”
This year, classes will be held July 13-17th at the Stephens County Fairgrounds. There are three age groups for students who have completed: 3rd – 5th (Group 1), Kindergarten – 2nd (Group 2) 6th-12th (Group 3). Early online enrollment will begin in April 13. Limited scholarships are available for students who need assistance. For more information, please contact Chisholm Trail Arts Council at 580-252-4160 or visit www.chisholmtrailarts.com.
