This exhibit, "Imprinting the West: Manifest Destiny, Real and Imagined" features 48 hand-colored engravings and lithographs from the 1800s, from well known western artists like Karl Bodmer, George Catlin and Frederic Remington. This exhibit opened in September and is on display until Oct. 20, this traveling exhibit from Mid-America Arts Alliance, explores the depictions and influence artists had on the perception of the wild west. Westward expansion in the 19th century was intertwined closely with the experiences of American Indian people. There is a regular admission fee to see this exhibit.
